Big congrats to the OP!
And thanks to all of the people who shared their positive life impact experience from trucking. Most of the time in these forums all you see is people kvetching and moaning about how crappy trucking is, how much they hate it and it’s ruining their lives. I knew there had to be some positive stories out there but you really never hear them b/c apparently those people are too busy being happy.
After 21 years and three layoffs in IT I quit last year and got my CDL in December. I just finished my first week of orientation / training at a tanker company that seems really good and if the pay is what everyone around me keeps claiming it is my wife and I plan to pay off our house and be completely debt free in five years!
Plus I’m really looking forward to getting out on the road, seeing some of the country and listening to some good audio books!
