Well I finally landed a LTL gig and I must say I love it. I applied to every LTL company and got turned by every one because I didn’t have any LTL experience. I was about to give up on LTL but AAA Cooper called gave me an interview and I landed the job. I’ve been with this company for 4 months now and I love it here.

I’m a linehaul driver and I’m running teams here. Until I can build some seniority to hold down a decent lane team is where I’m going to make some good money. I could stay and work the dock and pray I get a run but sometimes I don’t get a run and just work the dock and I don’t want to be an over paid dock worker. I’m a driver and I want to drive. I run Monday-Friday and we run close to 6,000 miles a week. I get to the house at least twice a week for a couple of hours which is fine with me.

I make $1,900 – $2,100 a week gross but after taxes, benefits and 401k that comes out to about $1,500 – $1,700 take home. I couldn’t be more happier. This company gave me a chance and I’m not looking anywhere else or going anywhere and I will retire with this company. If you guys have any questions feel free to ask and I will answer them to the best of my ability. Just wanted to speak about this company a little bit. I know we might not be a big time LTL player in the game such as Fedex Freight and UPS freight and ODFL but it’s in the top mid- size LTL carrier companies to work for. Hope everyone has a blessed day and safe travels.
