I was talking to NASTC today and the person told me a few things I’m curious about.

He told me that since I have a new Authority I have no inspection I have no points basically I have a perfectly clean record.

He said that because of that I will almost always get a green light.

He also told me that I need to try to avoid being inspected at all costs. He was trying to say that if an owner operator gets a bad inspection so many more good inspections are required to make up for that, and it’s much easier for larger Fleets with more trucks to make that up.

I thought that I read somewhere that at some point you want to be inspected. I thought that at some point it’s important that you have the inspection on your record. He seemed to not feel that way.

It was an interesting conversation, but I’m not sure that information is correct.

What do you think?
